Photos - Light Aircraft Down

On November 24, 2004, members of the Hamilton Volunteer Rescue Squad responded to a light aircraft down in our 1st due area.  The plane came down the backyard of a residence just south of Waterford, VA, while trying to make an approach to the nearby Leesburg Airport.  Weather conditions were foggy, as can be seen with the fog at the tops of the trees in this photo.  Both of the passengers on the aircraft were pronounced dead at the scene.  The Virginia State Police and NTSB were called-in to handle the investigation of the crash.
