Photos - Training Burn

On December 19, 2004, members of the Hamilton Volunteer Rescue Squad and the Hamilton Volunteer Fire Department conducted a live fire training burn in the Paeonian Springs area.  A house was donated to the fire company, allowing for their firefighters to train on actual burn scenarios.  Several members of the Rescue Squad are also firefighter certified, including Chief Jody Marker, Lt. Jonathan Whitbey, and Sgt. Matthew Sheehan.

Several exercises were conducted before the house became too hazardous to continue to allow interior operations.  The house was subsequently burned to the ground for safety reasons.

In addition to the HVRS and HVFD, personnel from Loudoun County Fire-Rescue and Manassas City Fire Department were involved in the training.
