YESTERDAY...

The Hamilton Volunteer Rescue Squad was founded in 1979 by a group of citizens committed to providing rescue services to the local community.  So, starting with 2 Chevrolet Carryall ambulances, a boat, and 300 feet of rescue rope, the HVRS was created.

Since its inception, Hamilton and the surrounding communities have grown substantially.  Loudoun County has been one of the fastest growing counties in the United States for the past 5 years, and the HVRS has kept pace.

TODAY...

The Hamilton Volunteer Rescue Squad consists of over 2 dozen men & women, ALL OF WHICH ARE VOLUNTEERS.  As a matter of fact, the HVRS is one of only 4 ALL VOLUNTEER stations remaining in Loudoun County, not relying on paid staffing, saving the county taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars per year

The members provide both Basic and Advanced Life Support services to the communities of Hamilton, Paeonian Springs, Waterford, and beyond utilizing two ALS-equipped ambulances, extrication & technical rescue with a medium-duty Rescue Squad truck, and water rescue to all of western Loudoun County with 2 boats.

Our members graciously volunteer their time to make a difference in the lives of those who need us.  Ranging from computer experts to retirees, school bus drivers to homemakers, men and women, young and old, the members of the HVRS take great pride in the protection of the citizens they serve.

TOMORROW...

As Loudoun County continues to grow at a record pace, the HVRS will be there.  We are currently in the process of building a new, state-of-the-art Safety Center that will house not only the Rescue Squad, but the Hamilton Volunteer Fire Department as well, allowing us to provide even better services to the communities we serve.
